original Poems

From Lonely Dragon by Donny Welch (author's profile)

Hey, everyone. Here's a few more of my original poems. I hope you enjoy them. :)

Forgotten
Every night I find myself
hoping to receive
a little proof that in your mind
are some lingering thoughts of me.
I hold my breath as the guard calls out
the names of those still loved,
he walks away, my hopes are crushed
leaving horrible wounds showing no blood.

The I's in My Eyes
If I close my eyes, I see nothing.
If I open my eyes, I see despair.
If I use my eyes, I see beauty.
If I pluck out my eyes is it all still there?

Who's There
I am now.
I am forever.
I am nothing.
I am all these things at once.
That's the joy of being lost.

You all take care. :)

Peace,
Donny
