CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION'S DIRTY LITTLE SECRET!!!!
There are literally hundreds of employees working as correctional
officers in this state who have criminal records. Many of the abuses are
committed by these people. They plant contraband on inmates, lie on
disciplinary reports, physically, verbally and mentally abuse us. Then when
someone snaps and taps their jaw, the cycle of abuse begins again.
Most of these convicts in blue uniforms get their criminal
convictions after they've been hired. The Department of Corrections (DOC)
is not able to police itself. The vast majority of these people were supposed
to get fired. Most hold convictions for DUI and Drug Possession. There are
some 4th degree Sexual Assaults with Risk of Injury to a Minor and other
felonies plead down to misdemeanors. Those of you who understand the system
will see that the courts are also showing them favoritism in sentencing.
You can verify this by requesting a copy of the DOC criminal records
log from the DOC in Wethersfield. I am the first Connecticut prisoner to
do so. My goal was to get the records of these abusers because the were
setting people up for write-ups. But when it's my word against their's, I
suffer from a credibility deficit because I was convicted. In order to get
a fair hearing, I wanted to show that these officers also have a credibility
deficit, just the way your lawyer would do in court. The result was that
the C/O's union approached a state senator to introduce a bill preventing
inmates from obtaining the arrest records of DOC employees. As you might
imagine, it passed. SO THE ABUSE CONTINUES...
