Most people assume that in a loving relationship, individuals are alike and have matching interests and opinions. Yet in reality, there are no well-matched couples or completely compatible friends. On a personality level, individuals differ in all respects and cannot be made identical. Whether the ares of agreement seem to be about food, weather, finances, entertainment, sports, parenting, or politics, look closely enough and you see separate attitudes about every detail. Yet none of this matters if both people see the differences clearly, accept the differences fully, and continue to practice love.

Life Pains
The pains we dare not remember are the most dangerous of all. We fear to face some horrible things that once hurt us, and we stuff it into the black holes of our unconsciousness where we suppose it cannot hurt us. But it only comes back disguised; it is like a demon wearing an angel's face. It lays low for a while only to slug us later, on the sly!
