One of God's great miracles
Is the precious gift of sight.
To see a field of flowers,
Or an eagle's soaring flight.

But sight has its limitations,
Of distance, depth and height.
One good illustration,
Is in darkness - compared to light.

If you gaze upon the ocean,
Or at the vastness of the sea,
You would get some kind of notion,
Of just how far that you can see.

It seems you can see forever,
But friend - there is so much more.
Like what you can't see, however,
Between the waves and ocean floor.

It adds a new dimension,
And it may humble you to find.
What's beyond our comprehension -
In so many ways, we are blind.

To walk by faith, not just by sight,
Is a miracle of his grace.
Out of the darkness, into the light -
Into the warmth of God's embrace.

The hand may be quicker than the eye,
How much more "the speed of light".
And yet some still choose to rely,
On just the power of their sight.

Now hear the truth, he is the light,
And certainly the only way -
Is to walk by faith, not just by sight,
To hear the word, and to obey!

Yes - one of God's great miracles,
May be the precious gift of sight.
But a far, far more precious gift -
Was his Son, who said "I am the light!"
