A Buddhist might call it "karma,"
A scientist - cause and effect."
It's quite simple to a farmer
What's been planted - you can expect.
It's a principle of scripture,
What a man sows - that he shall reap.
Even seeds that are carelessly sown,
Will continue to grow as you sleep.
But sowing is not just in words or deeds,
We can also sow into our mind.
Nagging thoughts can grow just like weeds,
Into those cares and worries - that bind.
Those seeds, once sown, becomes the fruit we must bear,
And by that fruit, is how we are known.
Those seeds we've sown become the fruit we bear
That we will have to present at the throne.
Perhaps it's time that we all just stop -
And think about what that scripture has said.
Perhaps we should take a look at our crop,
It's the proof of the life that we've led.
"By their fruit you shall know them."
What is it that our savior will see?
Does it bring glory or condemn?
What's at stake is eternity.

2-2
Every tree that bringeth forth not good fruit,
Is hewn down and cast into the fire.
This is not just my opinion,
But the words of the messiah.
Will you wind up in the storehouse,
Or on the threshing room floor?
Stand undefiled, as a spouse -
Or be left outside of the door?
Be not deceived, God is not mocked,
For what a man sows - that shall he reap.
Bring forth fruit meet for the master's table,
Or friend - be prepared to weep.
As I sit here writing these words,
The things that I keep thinking of -
Is not just that we reap what we sow,
But that the fruit of the spirit is love.
So love
my friend
Sow love!
