The "Good" Mr Zimmerman
September 2013

I wrote a piece about ideas that I hope will, at least eventually, help to quell the violence in the country, the world, but particularly the inner-city areas, and even more specifically Chicago. I don't know all the details of what happened in the big shooting earlier in the week, where eleven people - or however many - were shot. But I do know that I mentioned not being able to speak on whether or not George Zimmerman was irresponsible with guns and/or assaultive behavior, before the killing of 17 yr old Trayvon Martin. And I think the question has been answered with what SHOULD be finality.

I don't comprehend the media NOT making a bigger deal about the fact that his wife says he beat up her father & threatened them with a gun. There was very little coverage about the incident compared to how they covered the death of young Trayvon, and the trial, and the "not guilty" finding. Almost immediately after this, the 2nd troublesome incident Mr Zimmerman has been involved in since the trial, the local police announced that he would NOT be charged with threatening because no gun was actually in his possession when they arrived. To this his wife then responded that her computer captured the entire incident, but George Zimmerman smashed her computer. I also heard on the news that the police SAID they would try to recover whatever was on the computer. And THEN the story falls into oblivion.

Where is the outrage? Where is the major network correspondent who will go & poll the jury members to ask them who they believe: George Zimmerman, or his wife & her father? And how they feel now that he's been accused so soon after having a murder charge dismissed?

I just think this should be a big story. The same way that they followed O.J. Simpson around reporting on every single development in his life AFTER he was found "not guilty" of murder. As a matter of fact, HOWEVER it is that they were able to find O.J. Simpson guilty in a separate (2nd) trial, on "civil" not "criminal" charges, shouldn't this guy Zimmerman be found "guilty" of at least some civil violations?

I would really appreciate it if someone out there would make this issue heard on the websites of all the network news agencies' anchors. Also, Oprah's friend Gayle who is on the CBS morning news program now (which I think is pretty great), Charlie Rose, even. Hey thanks, have a great fall season.

Peace and love
