Love Affair

Love Affair

I was patient for you,
You were patient for me,
Our love,
Almost had me convinced,
That a blind man could see,
That's how deep it was for me,
I believed in you,
Thought everything was true,
As you rumbled through my beautiful mess,
You didn't even fake the test,
Said you could take it,
We could make it,
Knew my life was organized chaos,
Said you would never break us,
When I forgot my keys,
You never let me down,
Always came around,
Let me in your heart,
Then I heard the news,
Our love was just the blues,
At first, I thought it was propaganda,
Making me lose focus on reality,
Then I saw you holding hands,
I was no longer your single number one fan,
Lips of gold,
I had to fold,
They were no more for my soul,
You were very bold,
You had me in a singles hold,
Blinded by what was in front of me,
A story I thought would never be told,
Singles in a love affair,
That's just too cold.
