IN HONOR OF CONNOR

I just about every way imaginable--I have failed my son, with time preserving each mistake beyond the reach repair. I can only hope that he does not follow the steps of men like me, and heed this advise:

* Avoid young, naïve girls

* Under absolutely no circumstance date a married--or engaged--woman/girl. (Only a suicidal idiot would go after a girl wearing a ring; or think a girl that leaves another for them, is worth chasing in the first place. Home-wreckers are scum of scum; this goes for the promised who break promise, and those who move to...entice them into it. Narcissists, the whole lot. I know--because I was once like them.)

*Love, and love well--earn trust, and keep it honorably.

*Treat women as equal, and with respect.

*Don't smoke tobacco, or use tobacco products.

*No drugs; or acquaintance of druggies.

*Vote

*Continue education as a life-long endeavor

*Read Esquire magazine!

*Smile, genuinely

"I think that man was put here on Earth to live, not just to exist."

-Evel Knievel, his deadpan response just before being lowered--by crane--into his Skycycle intended to soar 1,600 feet across Idaho's Snake River Canyon.
