[a hand drawn leaf boarder around the following words: One World, many Forests. One Forest, many Trees. One tree, many Branches. One Branch, many Leaves.]

I heard this the other night on PBS. I believe it was Paul from Peter, Paul & Mary who said it. Since then, it has stuck with me, reminding me that no matter what, there are maybe a trillion stars in our universe, 7.6 billion people on this planet of ours, that there is still only on Raymond Michael Alderman. Now, I know that there are others who have the same name as mine, but there is only one person with my DNA. I am an individual; we all are.

I am and always will be who I am, who I want to be, me. I tried for years to be who I thought it was that everyone else wanted me to be. I hid myself, my personality from the world. I believed that I was a nobody, not worth a damn to anyone.

But over the years, I have found out that I am that world, I am that forest, I am that tree, I am that leaf, and I am a person who deserves love, attention, and the opportunity to be me.

We all do. :)
