"OCCUPY" THE WORLD

MONDAY 10-17-2011

This is a great day! This is a great time 2 be alive. I'm so very proud 2 C this generation of people RISE AGAINST!!! It's about time I was wondering whether it was something in the water that had dampened the spirit of resistance in America. So much has transpired in the past decade that was not properly responded 2. It's truly been a long time coming. And I have a great idea for how 2 channel that energy into concrete action, directed right at the problem in an, even more, pinpointed way...
I wrote about the "OCCUPY" movement back on October 9 but I didn't send it. More prison life drama came up, and I'm really trying 2 refrain from complaining about my personal life because I know that - as far as prison life goes - my situation is not among the worst. But I've thought of it daily & feel that it's high time 2 contribute what I can. I had already written the 1st paragraph on this page when I saw the CBS evening news which noted that today is the 1 month anniversary of the beginning of this movement in New York City. I knew it was time 2 reveal my idea.
They spoke on the news about the diversity of things being protested. They showed a Native American gentleman with a sign & a "booth" protesting what he said were the still unaddressed issues of land from the beginning of the nation, along with a plethora of other issues that fall under a general heading: the 1% haves vs. the 99% haven'ts.
Here's the idea. I don't care who gets credit for it, but someone get this ball rolling. I believe this is a starting point for real revolutionary non-violent impact. At least for America's problem with jobs.
The companies that moved their production "over-seas" and still sell their merchandise in the USA should be boycotted. List the top 5 of them and boycott them, either 1 at a time nationwide or simultaneously. For example Nike. I propose that every manufacturer that shut down their operation here & moved production to a place where they can pay less than minimum wages should be shut out of business in America unless o until they are willing to operate at least 1/2 of their production on American soil & pay minimum wage at least. It's a start.
I believe we must keep the pressure on "Wallstreet", but at the same time take direct action against corporate greed by waving the flag of unity & solidarity in the face of business a usual. Another idea is 2 draft a bill & get the right people behind it allowing all abandoned buildings (houses, apartments, etc.) that have stood abandoned for a certain amount of time - say 3 years, or even 2 - be used for housing. Develop rules & regulations pertaining 2 it. It would be a wondrous thing if all of the movement generated here were to convert into DIY (Do-it-yourself), at least by connecting others, raising funds needed, etc.
Last week the PBS talk show host Tavis Smiley had a week-long special on poverty in America. I'm amazed at how many houses sit unoccupied. I believe that you would have an ally & a platform were you to contact him.
I'm grateful that I'm alive 2 C people come together on this scale. I can't help but 2 C it all as part of the same world energy that rose up in Egypt, Libya, etc. I'm so proud 2 be an American but also proud 2 b a citizen of the universe right now, look at how the rest of the world knows a good thing when they C it. A great man once said "when u c a good fight GET IN IT! Much, much love 2 U.
Can I get some feedback -
