A Dose of Freedom

So close but yet so far, trying times reveal who you really are.
As I watch the sunset over the mountaintop,
I feel a dose of freedom and that feeling will never stop.
Knowing that the life I've lived for many years
Will soon change but will it adhere
Anticipated excitement to the changes around the world
I may feel the need for a referral
So close but yet so far, I can feel the glorious glow from the North Star
My heart beats faster and faster by each second and every minute
Seeking freedom that couldn't be bought so I have to win it
Imagine being in a coma, waking up years later Wondering about changes
Are they getting lesser or are they greater?
I look forward to the day I can observe new technology
Knowing I'll be astonished with the things that are new to me
So close but yet so far, it's hard to withhold my cheers
Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah
So close but yet so far, when I take my prescription of freedom
I'll need a heavy dose
