Driving Towards Employment
Those of you who read my blogs or even know me through writing know that I'm doing everything in my power to better my opportunities for employment for a more productive and promising release. I used to drive trucks for a living and since my incarceration my license expired. I'd signed up for a truck driving class to take advantage of my time and prepare for my release so when I get out I'd immediately be eligible for a job with a promising wage to get on my feet. Unfortunately that dream was erased finding out I had old ticket citation fees for old tickets that could not be taken care of. Usually we are allowed to request time served. I did this and resolved the warrant issue. Unfortunately I have citation fees preventing me from what I had really hoped on planning and succeeding in my goal. It is so discouraging because I do not have the funds to pay such a fee nor do I receive any money. If our state paid for our work I would without doubt sacrifice for my future but they don't :-( and I don't know what to do. Attached is a copy, actually original letter, sent from the Dallas Courts, 2014 Main St. Dallas, TX 75202 #214-670-0109. It's important if you decide to try and help to call to inquire balance. At this point I have 8 citations at $30.00 a piece #'s (0002070900), (0002070893), (0002071080), (0002071086), 0002071087), (0002076469), (0002076467), (0002076468), totaling $240.00. To my understanding all the information you would need is my name, Teddy Joe Drake, DL# 15656308, last 4 SSN# 8917 and might could work out a plan if you do decide to assist I would surely like to know who you are and to thank you because it would mean so very much to me and to let you know along the way how everything goes. There's nothing more that I could honestly hope for than the opportunity to resolve my citation fees and get enrolled once again. Being a trustee grants me priority in enrollment because you can't take this class otherwise. A lot of you may wonder why I just don't wait to resolve it all when I am released. First and foremost when I do make parole I don't have an address to submit so I'll be homeless and have to stay in a shelter or halfway house. I really don't have family support and this is the cheapest way and best time to take the class because the class does charge but it will be charged to my parole fees so I can make payment plans. It's the perfect opportunity. Upon my release I'll have a birth certificate, SS card, and a valid class A license for immediate employment. I could receive a job in as little as a weeks time. There's nothing I can't do in a truck, dump truck, cement truck, etc. I have first hand experience. I learned everything I could to give me more advantages in employment. That I take pride in. This means a lot to me or I would not even write and ask for all of your help.
Sincerely,
Teddy

If someone wants to help you they could also go to https://www.municipalrecordsearch.com/dallastx for an updated list of citations that require payment. They'll need your license number (which you already provided) and they'll need your birth date too, which I'll share for you because I know it...9/24/73. Don't give up on your dream-it hasn't been erased, it's just on hold for right now! Talk to you soon, Melanie
