God in My Everyday Life

Hello, everyone. I have been asked to give a talk at our KAIROS Christmas reunion. The topic is God in my everyday life. So I'm going to try it out on all of you first. :)

I want to begin by telling you what Christmas means to me. The birth of our Savior was God saying, "Enough. I will no longer be separated from my beloved children." For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. This was God putting his foot down so that we can have a personal relationship with him.

I was a man by life, sexual abuse, physical and mental abuse had blackened my heart. God's miraculous healing of my mental illness opened my eyes and allows me to see God and his love everywhere. This may sound corny or silly, but I see God's love when I open my eyes in the morning and see the sunrise, in a butterfly, in a hawk soaring across the sky, a cloud floating past or in a gentle breeze. I see God when someone waves and smiles at me on the yard, or shares an encouraging word with me. A random act of kindness is a kiss from our Father. I will be going along and God will say, "I love you so much." And it will literally lift me up and give me joy and peace.

The world has taken a shy little boy and beaten and twisted him into an addicted, selfish, and violent monster. But Father God said, "No, I love you, my son." He saved me who blamed him and hated him because of all my pain. Then he told me, "Tell them all. I love them all so very much. It [the world] doesn't have to be this way."

I start every day by dedicating myself, body and soul, to God's purpose. I give it all to him because everything I have, everything I am, came from him. I know that God loves everyone alive as much as he loves me. Because of this, I will warp myself in God's perfect love and take the truth of his love into the dark places of the world. The strongholds which the enemy believes no one would dare enter and I will unleash the truth of God's love so that it can heal and free my brothers and sisters who are held in pain and misery by the father of lies. I see and feel God everywhere in a world of beauty, filled with his love. God surrounds me with love and my life is a wonderful adventure. I can't wait to see what he does for you. :)
