A Broken World—Ruined Lives

This is for anyone who has or is being hurt.

I'm not going to tell you the horror stories of my life that led to me getting two 15 year sentences in T.D.C.J. because I'm absolutely sure that you all have been through worse. I will tell you that I understand what you are going through, what you are feeling. The pain, the fear, the loneliness. Feeling like no one loves you. The confusion—what did you do to deserve this? Being beaten, abandoned, touched, or ignored. The anger that makes you want to hurt others just so they can feel a little bit of the pain that you feel every day. The feelings of worthlessness. Is this all I'm good for? The black despair—why doesn't anyone care? Isn't there anyone who understands me?

I'm not even going to ask you to trust me because I know how it feels to open up to someone and be betrayed over and over again. I even know how sometimes, late at night with tears running down your cheeks, you think maybe it would be better if I killed myself. Maybe then they would know how much they hurt me and feel a little guilty. I know because I felt exactly the same way.

I want you to listen up now. I want you to hear the truth.

All of that is a lie. The world has been tearing you apart because of how special you are. The devil has been trying to destroy you and bury you in pain and misery because he knows how much God loves you. He knows how beautiful and wonderful of a life Father God has planned for you. The devil is afraid of you and so very jealous of the relationship God wants to have with you.

I'm not going to quote Bible verses because I know those are just empty words to you right now. I know God loves you because he told me so himself. He told me to tell you he loves you and he misses you. If you will just give him one chance, he promises to never let you go. Plus, he wants you just the way you are right now. Don't wait one second longer because his heart is breaking for you, for the pain you are in. Don't take my word for it, ask him yourself. He has been eagerly waiting for you for a long time.

I know that right now you are thinking, "This guy is fricking nuts." But slow down a second and make sure that's not the voice of the one who wants to destroy you. I dare you—call out to God right now and tell him that you want him to prove to you that he loves you. Go ahead, what do you have to lose? He wants to take care of you. Provide everything you need and protect you. Nothing you have done or could ever do will make him stop loving you.
