Bob, I have been following your blog and I've been meaning to get back to you. Doing this electronically means I'm more likely to get it done.

I'm glad to see you're doing well, and still running. I took almost 3 years off because of a knee injury I couldn't shake. Retired like 5 times, but kept coming back. Finally starting to get back to the shape I was in back in 2007. Goal is a fast spring marathon.

Finally grew up and bought a house out in West Greenwich, RI. Great running out here. You'll love it when you get a chance to check it out for yourself.

Hope to hear back from you soon.

Bob,

Hearing about your luck with marathon weather makes me think about how lucky I have been. Wind gusts can definitely set your pace back. I've been very lucky with the weather in any marathon I've run.

I've committed to the Vermont City marathon for the spring. It's Memorial Day weekend. I've run really well there in the past (2:19:00 in 2007) so I'd like to try and be close to that. It can get really warm there, but I do well in the heat...as long as it doesn't get up into the high 80's.

Not much going on with the rest of my life. I'm not sure if you remember Jill Rowan, but I've been with here for about a year and a half now. She almost ran me over while I was running, and we've been together ever since. Aside from the house, and running, that's about it.

My family is good. My parents haven't changed much. My brother is married and has 2 kids (13 and 14) that he inherited from his wife's sister when she and her husband were killed in a motorcycle accident. My sister is engaged and getting married this coming summer. I'm holding out as long as possible.

Beth Hogan was asking if I still keep in touch with you. She teaches at the same school I do. Your name came up in a story and she asked if I knew where you were. I told here where you were and gave her this blog address. She said she wanted to drop you a line. I hope that you don't mind that I told her about this site.

How are things going with you? It's been so long since I've talked to you, I don't even know the details of your sentence. When is the earliest possible time when you'll be out? When will we get the chance to see you again? How is your mom and your sister? I bump into Justin in the weirdest places and I always ask about you, but I forget to ask about your mom and sister.

Hope all is well.
