New Puppies at SCI Dallas
April 10, 2018
Hi everyone, its been such a long time since I've written anything. Please forgive me. I have had massive typewriter problems and I just was blessed with a brand new one for free so I am able to type again. But honestly, I have lost my desire to do alot since my mom died. I lost my mom, sure we all go through it but I lost MY mom and I miss her so much every day. My mom lost her battle with cancer last August 19, 2017, & I have not had a full nights sleep since. She is my mom and I miss her so freakin much. But I wanted to talk about the new puppies today (: American Vet Dogs have blessed our prison with 2 more additions to our dog unit, they are 2 baby black labs named Gracie and Licorice, both females. I got to pet them and play with each for a moment or 2 this morning and you can just fall in love with their little faces. Such beautiful dogs. These 2 dogs replaces Splash & Quinn, both of these dogs have graduated and will now move on for more extensive training before being paired with a disabled veteran.
The D.O.C. has decided to make every inmate in the state get rid of their boots. About 2 months ago or so an inmate got into a fight with a guard and kicked the guard in the head. He later died in the hospital a week or 2 later. The guards union has decided to call ALL boots "instruments of death" and they demanded that all boots be removed from prison. This is ludicrous, ridiculous, and just plain foolish. If the inmate had been wearing sneakers, would we be getting rid of sneakers? No. If he had been bare foot would we cut everyones feet off? No. What they have done is forced every inmate to spend $100 on boots only to say, now you must mail them home or throw them in the trash. We will not be getting reimbursed nor will they exchange them for the new boots that they will let us buy at twice their actual cost. So this is just a plain way to extort us for more money. I for one will not be buying any more boots. I will donate my boots to a homeless shelter or a worthy charity that I can find and that will be the end of it for me. I hate how they are allowed to get away with forcing us to buy an overpriced item from the D.O.C. only to have it taken away from us and now we will not be refunded for the item and they still get to keep the money they made. I have met some amazing people from doing this blog and I do not want to stop. So I ask you reading this, please send me a comment telling me what interests you? What would you like to hear about? What would you like to know? I have an interest in speaking to my victims family, if anyone reading this is a part of the Updegrave family, I would like to know if you or anyone in your family would be willing to talk with me? If not, I completely understand & I will respect your wishes but if so, please get in touch with me. Anyone can sign up to email me at www.connectnetwork.com
I made a lot of mistakes in my life but I am learning. I have grown into a good man. Life is still tough but I am working on being the best man I can be, a man my mom would be so proud of.
I thank you for reading what I write and I hope everyone reading will continue to send comments. I look for the best in people, it is there. We just have to find it. My 20 yr old daughter is trying to find a decent place to live. If anyone in the city of Cleveland knows of any organizations she can reach out to, please let me know so I can call my little one and let her know. I thank you and I couldn't do this blog without you's. I promise to write more often. At least once a month to start. I am heavily involved with the lifers organization and the parole for lifers movement in my home state. Please feel free to check our 2 websites;
fossilandfeathers.org
passsb942.com
We will be creating a facebook page for our lifers org soon. So be on the look out for us. Take care and I wish you the best in life. Its what we all search for. Ciao.
