Course A New Slant On Life
Date 9-9-18

30 years ago I was initiated into Scientology with my first Extension Course: A New Slant on life. The anchor points of logic that course presented had infused much needed life-force to my parched soul at the time and revived my desire to know more!

30 years later I was afforded an opportunity to do this course once again, and it's just as refreshing to drink from the well of source now as it was then. Though my answers now contain much more certainty, I noticed.

But even what I'd learned as a glib student 30 years ago produced adequate reasoning power to keep me aware of survival dynamics, and that awareness weighed in many of my life decisions. LRH had given me the Midas touch with my increased understanding of life.

Inpinging upon enmest* became my game for decades. Graduating by gradient degrees until I'd finally bit off more than I could manage at the time.

Now decades later I've been initiating exiled felons who have attended my Scientology Prison Outreach study group at Mule Creek State Prison at Ione CA. The many WINs they've had over the years are very rewarding. --Knowing they've restored more awareness of awareness here than they've been aware of for far too long.

Long live the LRH legacy!

For the Love of Truth.

P.S. Attaching IMPORTANT NOTE and 13 Lessons (102 Q&A), for your consideration.

IMPORTANT NOTE

In reading the following lessons, be very certain you never go past a word you do not fully understand. The only reason a person becomes confused is because they've gone past a word that was not understood. Find the misunderstood word and get it defined.

For the Technical Words I've used in the following "13" lessons, I have w/c: (word clear) Definitions for your consideration. For any other words you do not understand, look them up in a good dictionary.

Knowing enough to learn is the first step to learning enough to know.

*w/c enmest: another word for enturbulated Mater Energy Space Time (mest).

Q1: How can changes in someone's attitude influence how he sees people, things and situations in life? Give an example.
A1: All the happiness you will ever find lies in you. An attitude of gratitude attracts things to be grateful for- vis-a-vis, an attitude of fear will perceive things to dread. A being causes his own "attitude," ex. Force yourself to smile and you'll soon stop frowning. People who have become unhappy about life are unhappy solely and completely because life has ceased to be made by them.

Q2: What is the single difference between a happy and an unhappy person?
A2: To Be Cause! To be- or not to be- that is the single difference. Are you making life or is life making you? Happiness, you could say, is the overcoming of not unknowable obstacles toward a known goal.

Q3: What is personal integrity? Give an example.
A3: Personal integrity is knowing what you know- and have the courage to know and say what you have observed. ex: As a wee lad, Santa Claus just couldn't really exist, and I couldn't resist saying so- even wit the potential consequence of no more X-Mas. The mystery was solved.

Q4: Give an example of a time when you trusted your own observations and had the courage to say so.
A4: X-Mas trees up at church, celebrating baby Jesus- who also knows when you've been bad or good (so be good for goodness sake). Again, I couldn't resist unravelling the mystery to discover the metaphorical allegories representing metaphysical phenomena. Saying so caused division between idol worshippers and the iconoclasts- but for me personally, I was permitted to discover even more Truth- always at the expense of exposing the concealed lies.

Q5: What distinguishes Scientology from prior religious philosophies?
A5: Scientology is a science of knowing how to know answers. Scientology can demonstrate that it can attain the goals set for man by all religions, which are Wisdom, Good Health and Immortality.

Q6: By focusing on the spirit as the true therapeutic agent, how does Scientology benefit individuals?
A6: By spiritual means- but means which are as precise as mathematics. A host of the bad conditions of life may be remedied in Scientology by confronting and handling the communication networks of life or the body. A Scientologist can [Help] make an individual well, happy, and grant him personal immortality, simply by addressing the components of understanding.

Q7: What is the actual identity of the individual? Explain.
A7: The living unit we call, in Scientology, a Thetan, that being taken from the Greek letter O, the mathematical symbol representing Thought, élan, vital life force, the spirit, the soul. The individual, the person, the actual identity, is this living unit. It is modified by the addition of a body. And by the addition of a body, it is brought into a certain unknowingness about its own condition.

Q8: What is Scientology's mission with regard to the Knowingness of the spirit?
A8: The mission of Scientology is to raise the Knowingness of the spirit to such a degree that it again knows what it is and what it is doing. And in this state the thetan can apply directly to his own body or to his environment or to the bodies of others the healing skill of which he is capable.

Q9: What should a student do to discover for himself whether Scientology does what it proposes to do?
A9: Ask questions: Does this data exist? Is it true? Does it work? Will it produce the best possible results in the shortest time? These are fundamentals and every student should undertake to discover them, thus raising Scientology above an authoritarian category.

Q10: Why is accepting something as true according to the Rule of "Authority" not a good practice?
A10: Man would have made an advance of exactly zero if this had been the only method! A datum is only as valuable as it has been evaluated.

Q11: What determines the value of a datum in any study?
A11: A datum can be proved in ratio to whether it can be evaluated by other data and its magnitude is established by how many other data it clarifies.

Q12: How do you make data your data as opposed to merely accepting data by Authority?
A12: By personal evaluation! Data is your data so long as you have evaluated it. Any person who accepts data (knowledge) without questioning it and evaluating it themselves is demonstrating themselves to be in apathy toward that sphere of Knowledge/authority.

Q13: What does thinking consist of? Is it hard to learn?
A13: Unfortunately, we are surrounded by a world that calls itself a world of science- but it is a word that is in actuality, a world of Authority.
Thinking consists merely of COMPARING a particular datum with the physical universe as it is known and observed.
