Today is day-1 of orientation and we will receive our schedule for the next 3-months of the Kewanee Program classes. This begins on Monday at a fast pace. There are dozens of additional classes, resources and activities not required for the program, but beneficial for anyone with a desire to succeed.

I notice there are so many things to do so each person must choose which classes are most important or risk being overwhelmed. If a person has no desire to better himself and just fluff off this time.. he can keep very busy. Just like regular prison; watching TV, playing basketball or talking endless hours of crap. In the end he is no better for being here and is more likely to return. Most guys like this usually trip up and get kicked out of the program eventually. The goal is to stay away from guys like this so they don't drag you down with themselves. Some guys just cannot stop being criminals.
I've heard about some great companies, like John Deer and Great Dane actively involved in this program, helping with training and hiring men right out of this program.
It's less than 48 hours and I can tell my days will be productive and occupied from 5 am to evening. I must keep a balance. There is a church service on Monday. Two bible studies on Sunday and Tuesday. A yoga class on Fridays. There is a resource room I can use for job searches and resume writing or learning to write grants as I have time.
