1. My thoughts regarding Gov. Newsom's moratorium is disappointing. Simply because I have been Wrongly and Unjustly stranded on California's death row for 20 yrs. WITHOUT State Habeas Counsel, and all my efforts to address this with the Court has been ignored or denied. And a moratorium only further delays my appointment. (See: Miscarriage of Justice; link to: http://betweenthebars.org/blogs/7375/o.mckinnon).
Of course his decision is political. During his news conference he states "...I know there are innocent people on death row." A moral decision would addressed the claims of those innocent on death row, in conjunction with a moratorium.
2. State Sanctioned "MURDER" is WRONG!
3. The moratorium is being received differently, depending on the prisoners legal predicament. I've heard the positive, the negative, and the frustration and disappointment I shared.
