Subject: Honor Flight - Patriot Day
Our Patriot Day event is designed to allow the men of Kewanee to have fun... Learn a little about Patriotism (citizenship) and teamwork which is an important job skill. But for the veterans of Kewanee we wanted to support a vet program so decided a fundraiser for "Honor Flight" was the way we would like to give back. The men of Kewanee stepped up and we raised a bit over 350 dollars. The staff members are still going to do a collection among themselves and one of the Kewanee artists painted a wonderful picture of a Soldiers Memorial to be raffled off in the community.
Many of the staff members here have come together to help make this event a success. Even the local and national tug of war team will be visiting to test our skills and teamwork.
