Subject: Covid-19 NOT here...
Hello world,
Here in Illinois the Corona virus has not hit full force. We pray that it will not. Seeing Americans
sacrificing personal desires and working together in order to protect others gived me hope.
This prison i s very small (280+) compared to most in Illinois (2000-3000) and IDOC Statewide is
doing everything possible to slow, limit and hopefully keep the illness out of the prisons for as
long as possible. Every illness within the prison is carried in by a family visit, or a staff member.
Once an illness, i.e. flu, hits us it spreads like wild fire among the population.
For nouw, our movement is normal and not restricted. Once the first sign of CV-19 is found in a
staff member or an inmate, we are all certain the prison will lock down. Our movement will stop
except for a shower once a week. If a house wing (50 people) has no illness they will probably
rotate people out of their cells for an hour each day to use the phone to connect with family and
walk around a bit.
For now though, there is NO sign of illness within this prison.
