Hey! Thanks for your response. An update on the make up yard situation is that the prison has begun giving them again. So there's some good news for you :). I haven't gotten any of my make-up yards yet but the rec JGT. has let me know I will get them. So the ball is rolling in a good direction.
Our new Secretary of Department of Corrections, Mark Inch, has sent memos to all prisoners in Florida informing us of his intentions to improve prison society and rehabilitation. It sounds very promising and exactly how one should aim when running a states Dept. of Corr. Time will tell if he is a man of his word or these memos are just politics and nothing more. There are a couple reasons I am inclined to believe he has good intentions though. "His 25 year military career honor + integrity will be 2 things he's practiced & obtained to make it 25 years in the military." My prison is in the works of giving death row prisoners dayroom time. So it doesn't appear he thinks we should live like animals until our executions are carried out. So far, he has instilled hope. To prisoners and people on the outside. Ultimately it is society in whole that will benefit from a lower recidivism rate. That'll mean people are getting out of prison as better individuals than they went in.
