1984? Most definitely! This kind of thing is just surreal and all too common, as you say. I help people with legal work and my situation was not even close to the worst I've heard. Excellent book btw!
From my perspective evaluating any situation is more a matter of commonsense than any specialized knowledge, so don't put yourself down. I just wish our elected officials would display the same attributes. ;)
Of course, that's assuming they even know what they're voting for or against. There was a bit of "I didn't know that was in there!" in the past couple of months at the Wisconsin level and federal. You'd think that if it's someone's job, then they should at least know something. Unfortunately, a lot of legislation lately combines a vicious duo of lack of commonsense and knowledge. Let's not get into accountability!
I appreciate your support. Please vote your conscience in the upcoming election. And if you're one of the BIB volunteers, thank you for this forum!
