Thank you for your kind words, and for your comment about the
plea system in this nation. Your comments were in response to the
"Statement of Principles Regarding the Trial Penalty", which I
shared last March.
I do want to be clear that I did not personally author the Statement,
so I cannot take credit for the wording.
However, one of the many non-profit organizations that endorsed and
signed on to the Statement is a legal advocacy group that I co-founded
and serve on the board of; and I'm a member of several other groups
that endorsed it. Our endorsement of the Statement is what prompted
me to post and share it on this space.
Transparency and integrity matter to me. Therefore, I just wanted to
clarify that, while my organization did endorse it and I proudly support
it, I did not personally author the Statement and cannot accept
any credit for the wording.
Thank you again for your comments and for your support of the Statement,
and thank you for reading the material that I share by posting it here.
