ARC- anti-recidivism coalition

Introduction

the anti-recidivism coalition is proud to present its rehabilitative course, emotional intelligence regulation emotions, relating to others, and cogntitive restroation. this course was written by prisoners for prisoners. emotional ineptitude is one of the root causes of crime. consequently, we decided to focus our efforts on understanding, regulation, expressing emotions in a healthy manner.

in 1990 psychologist john mayor and peter slovey offered the first formulation of a groundbreaking, paradigm-shattering idea known as emotional intelligence. fiver years later, in 1995 pyschologist daniel goleman popularized the concept with the release of his best selling book emotional intelligence. we have synopsized the works of these three psychologists and tailored them to fit the criminogenic needs of prisoners who are striving to change their lives

by no stretch of the imagination are we authorites on the matter. none of us has Ph.D's we are just a group of prisoners who have studied the applicable material, gleaned from it what we oculd, and are now sharing it with out fellow prisoners. we hope that by sharing this vital information we will be able to cultivare healthy emotional repertoires so that we can free our minds of the kinds of unheathy thoughts that gave rise to our cirminal inclinations
