Dear Director Berloff,
Please consider this my formal complaint to your office concerning some issues of serious abuse against the disabled here at the prison. After a review of the regulations governing your agency it is clear that such matters are under your perview.
The hospital unit here at MCI Shirley has been disposing of hazardous medical waste in an illegal and unsafe manner. Recently a disabled prisoner, Rocco Romana, wound up with maggots in his adult diaper. This is hard to believe, but it is a sad fact. This fact can be confirmed through Robert Fournier, the Health and Safety Officer here at MCI Shirley. It can also be confirmed through Amy Riordan of the Department of Public Health in West Boylston, MA.
The disabled here in MCI Shirley are being seriously mistreated in the hospital unit. Your office must protect all the disabled citizens in the commonwealth, not just the free world disabled. I ask that you instruct that a formal investigation be conducted into the Rocco Romano incident, and you will find that this is only the tip of the iceberg.The disabled here at the facility require your intervention.
