My Secret Blog Commenter
Jeremy Pinson

Some of you who read by blog may have noticed my most frequent commenter (progdp). This is my mother. She attempted to comment in a way that would not reveal her as my mother because, as a younger man, I was always embarrassed of my mother and so she learned it was best to simply observe me from a distance or risk me pulling a vanishing act.

Well, I am no longer a child filled with teenage angst and, though I can at times be brutally critical of my family, I love my mother very much and am honored to have her presence grace my blog. She need not worry about my privacy because I am after all a blogger writing intimate thoughts on the most public forum on earth, the Internet.

So, Mom, if you have something to say, you don't need to be camouflaged when saying it. I love you, I miss you, I'm glad you like my blog and never again will you embarrass me, even if you are kind of corny sometimes. :P And since this is your month, Happy Mother's Day.

That was beautiful! When our children get to this stage of realising what matters, we know we've done a good job as mothers :)

Cool. Well said to your mom. As a mother (and grandmother) I can assure it is the most thankless task. Kudos for giving your mom an emotional hug.

I try to remind *my* family they only have one mother and one grandma (that is our case). Please continue to open yourself to your mother...in whatever venue it takes. You're a good and kind man that will respect and honor his mother. More men need to do that. Good Night, Sir.

OK, ONE MORE CLOSING THOUGHT ON THIS BLOG ARTICLE:

I just came off my second marriage and my mom (while we were at a martini lunch) told me that the NEXT ex I selected should have this criteria: See how he relates to his mother. Then you will know how he is going to relate to you. For the unfortunate ppl who lost their mother early....this could apply to the aunt, the grandma OR WHATEVER MATERNAL significance was in their life. Treat this person like GOLD. You will be rewarded.
