Re: ANOTHER SUICIDE ATTEMPT AT MCI SHIRLEY!
Dear Governor Patrick:
I cannot believe that I am writing to report another suicide attempt here at MCI Shirley. I am aghast. Why is no one listening to our cries? How many more men have to suffer or die? When will your office seek the view of the aggrieved, the prisoner, and stop trusting the false and inaccurate reports of abusive and entrenched DOC officials? Lives are at stake.
On Monday, June 18, 2012, John attempted to kill himself in Cell #13 in the SMU here. An official "emergency code" was called and your office should obtain the reports from the handling of that code. These are all the details I have for now. Previously Robert and Robert both attempted suicide here in the past couple of months, and as you know Scott Rose successfully hung himself in the SMU. This is too outrageous to ignore. You must arrange a meeting with myself and some of the other motivated prisoners here. The DOC does not like to hear the hard truths as I present them, but that is too bad, as men are dying: men I care for!
As such Governor Patrick can you please arrange a meeting with myself and some of the men I have referred to here at the prison. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed and that we will save lives by working together.
Thank you for your time and I hope to see you soon.
Urgently Yours,
Timothy J. Muise

Re: ANOTHER SUICIDE ATTEMPT AT MCI SHIRLEY
Dear Secretary Heffernan:
I am saddened to have to report to you again that another prisoner has attempted to commit suicide here at MCI Shirley. The atmosphere of real hopelessness continues and men cannot take any more.
On Monday, June 20, 2012, John attempted to kill himself in Cell #13 in the SMU. An official "emergency code" was called so you might want to obtain that report from the prison. Prior to that Robert and Robert both attempted to commit suicide here, in the recent past, and as your office well knows Scott succeeded in killing himself not too long ago. When will the madness end? When will your office decide that it has to stop listening to disingenuous DOC employees? They are the problem. Lives are at stake here.
Can you please arrange a meeting with myself and other men I know who can afford you the hard truths about the failures here which cause the dire atmosphere of hopelessness. We can help you save lives. The time is now to speak with the aggrieved: the prisoner.
Thank you for your time and serious consideration in arranging this long-overdue meeting. I hope to see you soon.
Urgently Yours,
Timothy J. Muise

Re: ANOTHER SUICIDE ATTEMPT AT MCI SHIRLEY
Dear Honorable Undersecretary McCroom:
I am almost unable to write this missive, out of unbelief, but there has been another suicide at MCI Shirley Medium. How many warning do we have to issue? How many men have to suffer or die? When will our voices be heard? Please tell me that the time is NOW!
On Monday, June 18, 2012, it appears that "John" (this is the name I have obtained) attempted to kill himself in Cell #13 in the SMU. There was an official "emergency code" called here at the facility so your office should request the reports authored by staff here concerning that code.
To me this is unbelievable. The suicide crisis rages on and it seems that officials only want to speak to the parties responsible for the crisis. DOC staff cannot be trusted to afford your office the accurate view. I must be blunt about that. You need to listen to the prisoners! This facility is a mess. It is a murder factory. When will we work together to attempt to change the situation? Please tell me now. Lives are at stake.
Can you please arrange to come in and meet with myself and some of the other motivated men I know. You can trust me to afford you the hard truths, difficult truths the DOC hates to hear. We need to speak with you.
Thank you again for your time. I truly need to speak with you. My prayers will be to hear from you soon.
Urgently Yours,
Timothy J. Muise

Re: ANOTHER SUICIDE ATTEMPT AT MCI SHIRLEY!
Dear Senator Kerry:
It is unbelievable that I must report to your office that there has been another suicide attempt here at MCI Shirley. I am aghast. I have done all within my power to bring the hopelessness at this facility to the attention of state officials, but to no avail. They will not listen and men continue to die. When will it stop.
On Monday, June 18, 2012, John attempted suicide in cell #13 in the SMU. Previously Robert, several days earlier, attempted suicide in the SMU. Prior to that Robert attempted suicide here. And as I reported to you previously Scott successfully committed suicide in the SMU here. These tragedies are indicative of the hopelessness this ill-run facility breeds.
Can you please arrange a meeting with myself and some other motivated men here at the facility about the hopelessness and what is causing it. We also have some very viable solutions we would like to propose. We can save lives here if we work together. We need your help desperately.
Thank you for your time and anticipated serious consideration in meeting with us. Please ask your staff to make the arrangements.
Urgently Yours,
Timothy J. Muise
