Terrance "Butter" Williams has been at a hearing fighting for his life, a life that should've never been on the row in the first place. There's been days of testimony concerning prosecutorial misconduct. The DA threatened his codefendant to remain silent about some mitigating evidence in exchange for a lighter sentence (a deal they reneged on). The DA wanted to suppress the fact that Butter's victim actually victimized him as a young man, along with several other young boys as well; and that while he was hitting the victim, he was shouting "so you like fucking little boys up the ass!" These bits of mitigating evidence can change the degree of murder from 1st to 2nd, a big difference between death & life. Incarceration was undoubtedly where he was heading, so why hide this bit of mitigating evidence? Why was the DA so intent on pushing for 1st degree murder which carries the death penalty?! Well, all I know is that, that prosecutor is now a federal judge. So what do you think???
Where is the public outcry of righteous indignation for the actions of the prosecution in this case? Where's the media coverage of this misconduct that severely crossed the lines into the criminal? Isn't anyone outraged about this blatant case of overzealous prosecution -- obstruction of justice, suborning perjury, malicious prosecution, intimidating a witness, & so forth. There hasn't been much media coverage in my viewing area, but there was a 30 second news-bite on CNN. A human being is being executed here for killing a sick pervert that made him that way, and then he's victimized again by a system that swore to protect his rights, even in the pursuit of justice!!!!!!
I have heard that there is some news coverage in our hometown Philly. Don't know how much though, but it can't be enough if the citizens aren't up in arms to protest this atrocity. We should be in the streets shouting to stop the execution of Terrance "Butter" Williams, and to abolish the death penalty. The application of the death penalty is too broad, and too many over-prosecuted prisoners sit on the row waiting to be EXECUTED!!!!!!! The system has failed us, and continues to do so without a care for justice.
