John I have the chills just reading what you have written and I think the crosses you made are absolutely amazing. I think it is horrible that they would take these things away from you! They are not hurting anyone, if anything they are making you less hurtful in the prison.
Your crosses are beautiful. But even more beautiful is the photo of you and Mom. You know better than to let anyone knock you down. You are a strong person. I think of you all the time. Keep the faith john!

You know that I know a thing or two about prisons and their politics, and I speak often to folks about them. Unfortunately, people, even those who are sympathetic, are largely indifferent on the matter. It's not a good time to be in prison, as if there was ever a "good time." An ear to the voices of the public will tell you that.
