Hello Friends -
Between the Bars and across the miles, I send greetings along with the prayer that all is well.
I'd like to introduce you to Deputy Dawg. :D He's a 2nd cousin (once removed) to "McGruff" (the famous "crime dog" in the trench coat :D). The "once removed" part comes from when he violated probation and was "picked up" at the family reunion picnic a few years back - "once removed" he was "out of sight, out of mind" doing his time behind the razor wire. Yep! You guessed it... D.O.C. stands for Dept. of Corrections. :D L.O.L.
Anyway, he's not just another dog on a blog - he's determined to find a way to make people realize how serious the problem is for those who find themselves "cut off" from society - not just by the confines of the razor wire - but by a digital divide.
I'm trying to finish this post at 2:35 a.m. on a Friday morn (11/7). It's dark, but it's quiet in the dorm... I'm going to wrap this up because it will be the last opportunity to send out "snail mail" until Tues a.m. (No D.O.C. mail pick up on the weekends - and, of course, Monday is Veteran's Day - Semper Fi!
For those of you impacted by the Northeast Hurricane - my prayers are WITH you... for those of you underwhelmed by the election of Barack Obama, my prayers are FOR you - I pray that you may set aside your resentments and recognize that united we stand and divided we'll fall... right off of that fiscal cliff!! The global economy could go into a freefall that could make Felix Baumgartner's "leap" look like one small step for mankind.
