CASUAL VIRUS
-Carlos-

Some anonymous donor
Must have swapped their numbers
Small wonder they were raw and fluid with each other
An escalated item likes dumb and dumber
Consensual – both at once choice and chance
Both oblivious to the residuals of cause and effect:
Contraction and infection by risky casual sex
And as they lay
As they lay there they laid bare their feelings
They laid bare for more feeling
As they lay they laid bare
Him with his plan and blueprints of the heart to be taken
She with her plots and stratagems for a token invasion now sated
No whats, whens, wheres or hows
Now they can never sever their relations
In the chapel of the walking pneumonia they wed
With no reading of vows and in no need of ring exchanges
So they kept their names, no replacements
Because the only thing changing was their negative status
Positive and aware
Or so read the syllabus
For love lost and found
In search of a cure for the Casual Virus

ATTENTION: All blog ons at home and abroad WORLD AIDS DAY with all of its pomp and circumstance was it more than talk? We now know talk is not as cheap as it used to be. Talk costs lives in subsaharan Africa. Talk costs are paid in HIV orphans left positive and unaware of how many tomorrows can be put off instead of doing what can be done today. The answer is none. The fight for a HIV/AIDS free world has to be fought every day. It's not just rallies and talk of rallies, improvements and rumors of advancements. It has to be definitive actions and calls to action in a major way to be viral down. Be that as it may there is no time to celebrate our victories won or lick the wounds of battles we have lost when there is still a war to fight and win.

Am I a bitter pill to swallow? The answer is yes. No more and no less that the immeasurable amount of bitter cocktails taken in daily regimens across the world. I am not ready to settle down and I am unwilling to make nice about the incidence of longevity and the better quality lives enjoyed by people living with HIV/AIDS as long as it rests wholly under the shadows of nukes. The struggle must continue until every affirmative person is free from the yoke of HIV/AIDS period. Imagine that. The freedom to be. People. Plain, simple, ordinary people. And not just people living with HIV/AIDS. Freedom now Blog Ons. Viral Down.
