Hi, sweetie! Please call your mom. She's having a really tough go of it lately - the depression is taking over her life.
i'm having a difficult time of convincing myself to do anything lately. i'm actually hoping for a layoff at wor. Can't afford to quit, but a layoff would at least allow me to collect unemployment. My current job is the biggest source of stress in my life and, as such, the biggest contributor to my depression.
Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post. I've gone back through the archives of your posts, and have really enjoyed reading them. I hope to transcribe more of them.
Hi Joe. Thinking of you. May our God bless you and keep you. May his face shine upon you and give you peace. And Oh, How HE can do it. We had VBS this last week for Mon,Tue, and Wed. The first night we were having the story of Lazarus and I had someone play the part of Mary, Martha, Lazarus, a friend of theirs Jesus, and some of his disciples.(wasn't enough to have 12 disciples.) Well Jesus and his disciples were somewhere else, and Lazarus died. In our acting out the story, I would tell them what to say. When the kids started wrapping Lazarus body to bury all the kids wanted to help wrap him up. I thought Oh, OK I'll let them, then we'll go back to the story. When the little girl who played Jesus knelt down by Lazarus, she said, "It's all right, Jesus is here now." Wow! What a sermon from a child. Even if all seems hopeless, Lazarus is dead, Mary and Martha are disappoited that Jesus didn't "come when they thought he should" and they are crushed with grief. But it's all right, Jesus is here now and he is all we need no matter what we are facing. Praise God. Since he came ,though the night seem long, and all hope seems gone, It's all right now. Halleujah Mama says Keep praying for her. We're praying for you. Joyce and Grandma Blackwell
Once again, Harlan, you have shared a fair and insightful observation about mental illness within the prison walls. I, too, support the means and efforts to identify and treat those whose mental illness poses a threat to the well being of men like yourself, to the mentally ill themselves, and to the safety of staff.
I commend you for speaking out on these topics through your blog. With the penal system lacking in so many ways, it is amazing to me that you have this resource available to you. I, for one, am thankful for that and that people like me can respond.
Harlan, through your words, observations and, opinions expressed in this forum, it appears to me that you are making the best use of your time while incarcerated. It is evident to me that your efforts go beyond merely thinking of yourself in an attempt to speak for all. God bless you each day.
