Feels kind of weird just writing on YOUR blog, without you being around much anymore. I hope all is well, and you're inspired to write again. I'll try to get the hang of the letter thing again. I got the new Trevor Rabin, and it is everything I hoped, and then some. No metal on there, I'm afraid, but I know you like all kinds of different music, and he does most kinds on this CD. Some stunning guitar, piano and keys, and bass, (all provided by Rabin), and even great drumming, (by one of Zappa's drummers.). It's so deeply refreshing to have music this different and original in this day and age. I'd send it if I could, but I guess we can't do that. Retirement is getting old fast, so I'm looking for work. Jeanette and Cat still live in Las Vegas, but sadly, since they moved out, we don't see or hear much from them. I was saddened to hear that you aren't hearing from Jeanette either. I'll start work on a letter.
Hey Kelly - Kim here. Read your blogs today.. enjoyed them - could not figure out where you are.. state/prison. You don't post an address - ya know for those who want to write. Just to drop this line and you can reply to this and they will post it for me. Hang in there with the new rommie - can't be easy !!! Keep writing! Have a nice afternoon Kelly.

My name is Jessica. I am a 29 year old Psychology student and a writer for a true crime magazine. In hopes of boosting both my career and the content in said magazine, I am hoping to reach out to prisoners and learn more about what they have to say. I am particularly interested in those convicted of violent offenses, but I am not prejudice. I do not know what your charges were, but I’d be happy if you would like to share. I am also looking to learn more about prison life from the prisoner’s point of view, and how the masses behind bars are being handled and affected psychologically by their punishments. I know as a prisoner you have one of the most unheard voices in the country. That is why I am here. I have no degrees at the moment, but I am hoping to get some kind of experience for my future. If you’re willing I would like to communicate with you via this website and paper mail. I will not barrage you with questions you do not want to answer. Only share what you want to. Realize that I will be doing the same. While I am open-minded to our blossoming friendship, I will not be fulfilling any of your romantic whims. I just want to get that out on the table because I do not wish to make any contacts with prisoners hoping for romantic relationships. I want the communication to be a genuine desire to share thoughts, opinions, and experiences. That being said, I look forward to your response. Jessica
Like your story. Hope you continue writing....Writers block can happen to anyone. I'm sure in your situation clearing your mind in not an easy thing to do. If you're having trouble focusing on a specific story try putting it aside and write whatever comes to you. Like you did in this blog. I actually found the description of your surroundings quite compelling. Keep writing about what is now your life, the things you see and feel. I can't imagine being in your shoes. Your day to day routine must be very hard, but you must be a strong person because as difficult as it is you're dealing with it. Writing about it might give you some kind of release and clear your mind for writing other things.
David, Your ability to find ways around your obstacles is amazing. Also, your patience and determination is amazing. Your work is great! I too cross stitch, but not under such strained conditions. As is, it is difficult to follow those patterns exactly. Whenever I find I've miscounted I get frustrated. Usually, I can't find the mistake and I chuck the piece aside. I also draw a lot. I initially clicked your name because I have relatives with the same last name as you. But, once I saw your work I had to say something. I have a book full of fairy drawings that you can color. I got it for the same reason you got your book. I wanted to draw fairies. I would love to see the book you have. Maybe you could just tell me the title and I could get my own copy. I think it's great you have found constructive ways to fill your time. When you are released it will be much easier for you to find ways of spreading your artwork out even more. Good luck to you with that. I have been surfing the website "Between the Bars" because I am a psychology student and a writer for a true crime magazine. I was hoping to reach out to some prisoners to learn more about prison life in the eyes of a prisoner. I want to learn more about how effective the justice and prison systems are. If you would be interested in sharing some of your thoughts, opinions, and ideas, I would love to hear them. I will not barrage you with questions you do not want to answer. You can share whatever you want to and do not have to feel obligated to share anything more than that. Realize that I too will not be sharing everything with you. I am open-minded to a blossoming friendship, but I will not be fulfilling any romantic whims. I just want to get that out because I do not want any prisoners communicating with me on the premise that we may one day develop romantic feelings for each other. With that said, I look forward to any contact from you.
