Hey Daddy--I know I haven't commented on the last few blog posts. Mostly cause I didn't really have anything to say. We talk every week (not that those phone calls are long enough) so a lot of time there's not much to say about the posts that I don't tell you. But I still read every one, and it's always interesting.

Haven't thought about Papa Bob's soap on a rope in years. I didn't realize he would have been 78 this year. That reminds me, I need to get back into my genealogy research.

Can't wait to talk to you this week. Missing last week sucked. But I love you and I miss you like crazy. --Amanda Jo

@Admin:
There was not only John´s reply but another one.
Can that one be seen again too?

@John:
One can agree or disagree with death penalty but
what was really astonishing me a bit - do you
seriously want a system like China´s in the US?
I mean, you are obviously proud of having served
the freedom of America and so on - and I do pre-
sume you know that China oppresses political
points of view that aren´t welcome to the go-
vernment and so on?

And to which countries are you referring that
have no violent crimes worth speaking of?
(...if I may ask...spontaneously, I know none.)

Dear Ronnie,
one big fat remark:
You know I´m opposed to the death penalty for my religious beliefs.
But, please, DO leave Hitler aside.
Hitler´s system wasn´t highly orchestrated?
Either I misunderstand the meaning of orche-
strated (which is of course possible as I´m not from an English speaking country) or you missed quite an amount of history lessons.
Hitler´s killing machine isn´t comparable to
anything else, it was an absolute effective
killing horror not "only" for criminals but
for innocent people who just had the bad luck
to be Jews, disabled or in another way be unwanted by him and his terror government.

Surely the American justice system does have
its mistakes and imho death penalty should
indeed be abolished but comparing them with
Hitler is an absolute no-go - for the sake of
the system representatives as well as for the
sake of the Nazi victims.

Greetings!!!

Hello Daniel,

I watched the website for your posts most of the day yesterday (and the days previous), but got busy last night. Murphy's Law! Once I stopped looking for you, your post appeared! Haha. So someone else transcribed them for you. Thank you Deblegs! She (I assume female, but no way to know) transcribes for many bloggers here on this site. A gem of a person!

I have subscribed to your posts, so from now on, every time your blog gets posted I will be notified. I will make sure that every post you send gets transcribed, whether by me or by someone else. I told your bro about this too, so he may join in on the fun!

How very cool this site is for all of you to have the opportunity to reach the world wide web!

I've submitted a request to send the stamped envelopes and will let you know what I find out. In the meantime, to prevent any delays, you may want to mail them a letter consenting, and include any instructions.

Great to see you blogging!

John, thank you for the post - I had made a comment as well. I had been following this blog for some time, until I realised inmate financial funds are available for the public. It dawned on me that this blog is basically a tool to seek money and self serving needs. They all should stop crying about needing an MP3 player, food boxes etc. Their "needs" are met by the taxpayers already. I too would like some donations of help - for free, I am after all a law abiding citizen. My kids don't even have MP3's !!! Geez - poor poor prisoners, riding the State's funds out on appeals for a crime they should basically admit to get on with it. Ron said he was involved.... his own post. Well, John your post was very good. Thank YOU for serving our country by the way, honorable.

oh I see, ALL replies are "welcome" BUT then the "hypocrite" has them removed. I wrote a reply yesterday, and a woman wrote one as well. Both are now gone. It is sad how ronald can talk the talk, but when something is replied that he dont like, he cant walk the walk, and has them removed. I wont waste my time coming here anymore...very sad and pathetic.!!!

Thanks for writing. I finished the transcription for your post. I hope you had a Happy Birthday on the 7th.

You indicated that you are the 15th child in your family and have an identical twin. Do you maintain contact with any of your family members?

Have people been responding to your blog posts? I noted that although no one replied to your posts on the Between the Bars page, you continue to write frequently. I assumed that perhaps someone responds by writing and mailing directly to you rather than on this site. If not, may I ask what drives you to continue writing? I ask because you seem to be speaking to someone when you write.

You have likely met your new cell mate by now. I hope he is a good match for you.

Regards,
ggvdb

So in the end, did you keep the cable tv? ;-).

You know, honestly, I'm somewhat comforted in knowing that your place ISN'T like the places we see on TV. Some of them look pretty rough. We watch a show called beyond scared straight which follows spoiled rotten punk kids into a prison and let's them get yelled at by inmates. It's actually a service put on by the inmates to assist in keeping kids out of the prison system. The whole point it, you can tell when they're moving around inside all these different places how bad each individual prison is. Just by the infrastructure alone, if nothing else. It everything looks awful, than you can surmise that the staff and inmates don't care about the environment they all live and work in, and therefore don't care about each other either. This would lead to more inside crime, violence, drugs, etc. It's sad. Most of the really seedy ones seem to be in California, or on the East Coast. All in all, your place doesn't sound too bad, if a guy has to be in prison. I do sympathize with the loss of gym equipment. That's still a stumper.
