If you look at Countries where they have NO violent crime to speak of. It is because they let their citizens KNOW up front what they will face. You DONT see "murder" in many parts of the world, because the citizens KNOW, when they kill someone, they will VERY quickly be relieved of their head.

This Nation is FAR too soft on crime, which is why our prisons are so full to overflowing. In China for example, directly after the trial, the accused is led into an adjacent room, knelt down, and a bullett is deposited into the back of their skull. The price of the bullett is billed to their families.

I spent a career with Marine Recon, and have ZERO tolerance for crime. I was in front line combat numerous times, defending the rights of freedom enjoyed here in this Nation. I DONT feel sorry for ANYONE doing LWP, or on the rowe. Everyone makes their own choices, and MUST pay the fiddler afterwards. Prisoners here in the Nation, as bad as you say things are, actually have it quite good.

I read some of your blog, concerning the "horrible" conditions you are forced to live in. These conditions are actually MUCH BETTER than myself, and my fellow Recon Marines had to endure, many times.

I also DONT buy the "terrible" childhood stories I here from so many prisoners. My childhood was the WORST I have ever heard of. Yet, I made the decision to get away from it all, the gangs, violence, drugs all around me, and spend 20 years defending America.

I understand there has been a "tiny" percentage exhonerated from the rowe and GP, BUT, that is just how it must be. You CANT allow the majority to get away with murder, for the minorities sake. Until the GUTLESS people in charge of our Judicial system, grow a spine and model our system to mirror China's, or many middle eastern nations, people will continue to committ whatever crime they like, because they know they wont "suffer" like people in other Countries do.

It is your right, the right I fought for, to say what you like here. Remember though, in your position, on the very bottom of the food chain, when you piss off the "sharks", you become "bait". I am sure you understand this, and so I hope you accept your fate, when repercussions come back your way. I learned this the HARD way in the streets, and the Marines.

Hi Joe thanks again for reminding us to be still and listen I sometimes find that hard to do. You are so right He is waiting for us to realize He is God and that only thru Him will we find peace. That is also my prayer for you. I am so thankful for Him keeping you in His care and safe. I am also thankful for what He is doing in your life. I am so proud of you and look forward to these blogs. Thanks again for it being made possible.
I love you and will see you soon.

Magic Man: I think about you often. They are good thoughts too. That is what the Word says to do!(Philippians 4:5) I received your letter sometime ago and misplaced it until the other day. Thanks for allowing me to connect with you via "Betweenthebars." Must be wonderful to study the Word in Hebrew and/or Greek. Talk about indepth study!!
I still have "The Message Bible" which you gave me. It has the ability to open the Word using today's English. Joey, Each time I see that Bible in the bookcase and each time I pass the condo where you live, I remember our good times. Blessings,
I love you, Man! miles

Hi Ronald, We used to write many years ago but lost contact. Thought I would look up your site and sat the last hour (on works time haha) glued to my screen and now feel like I have entered another world. You write so well that us readers feel like we are sat there with you, while telling a story. So sorry about your friend. A close friend of mine was executed back in 1999 in Missouri.

I fully intend to sit down and send you some more mail but I had to let you know straight away that reading this is so moving.

Your take care

I must tell you. Your post could not have come at a better time. What I find is your words so very relevant to the outside as well as the inside. Good looking out...Inspiring looking in. What I find amazing...is your words drip with character. Its just been a rotten day today...you gave me the inspiration I needed. I even had to print your post to remind me move forward and refuse to look back.

David,
Wow, where do I start? First I am glad that you rely on God, not only on yourself, and are in the midst of finding peace within. Inner peace is a gift few people ever attain. Paul (in the Bible) wrote several times about being content in prison; however, his Roman citizenship entitled him to a few amenities that may or may not compare. Anyway, I pray you will be able to relate to that aspect, and take comfort…..
Currently, I am facing life’s challenges as best as possible. The immediate apprehension is the unknown location of our next duty station in June; it will remain a secret until the list is published in mid-April. Not really a catastrophic challenge, but extremely inconvenient. I am ready to complete my service and take more control over my circumstances.
As for the simple things in life, I know what you mean. I have been so focused on other things that I rarely take time to reflect on what truly matters.
Finally, from your letters, it appears that you continually strive to improve yourself, Spiritually, mentally, and physically. I hope you continue to find techniques to assist others.
I will pray for you!
Sam

Excellent rap! Keep spreading the word and keep writing the word. Our mothers must have conferenced with each other since I got the very same advice from my mother. Though she is deceased now, I still hear her voice sending out the very same messages you heard from your mother. I think it is part of the universal wisdom God send down to mothers. I look forward to reading some more of your songs. I wish I could hear a recording of you rapping the songs.

I always appreciate hearing from you through your blog. I am glad you are doing okay and find the food to be decent. As a person who does not like to eat meat, but loves food, I probably would have problems eating the food. You do describe a varity of food and I am sure you do not go hungry. I like the title of your latest song, "Don't Be a Fool."
