I agree with parallaxboi all that he says. And I agree with the fact that ignorance plays a big part in most or maybe in all religious factions, the spread of hate. But one belief is above the other factions, because there is God who is very forgiving. I am a transwoman and being from a Christian home i would be considered an abomination. But with my extensive study in a bible university and interacting with fellow true believers in Christ I came to realize that there is a God who truly loves me and is willing to meet me where I am at. God never told me he hated me, as a matter of fact He has done nothing but bless me. He bless me with talents that is beneficial to all that come into contact with me. We as a community are looking to be loved and respected and recognized as a living human being. My relationship with God may be rocky, but that is my choice because I make wrong decisions at times but He reminds that he is there for me, and would never abandon me. And I share that with parallaxboi and whoever within the community to know, yes God has been referred to as a hateful God but that is coming from people who are hiding their own sins. But I am telling you that I know God to be loving and compassionate and understanding. He does not create mistakes, everyone has a purpose in life. We should stop fighting in ways that harm another person. So I congrats parallaxboi in voicing his views and beliefs. All I ask that you have an open mind that there is a higher power that can love you and accept you for the person you are.

From the,
Aztec Queen

Dear Kelly,

It's nice to meet you, and thanks for the holiday greetings! If I could ask, do you know anything about what people exactly do on Litha?

To be honest, I wish I had some of your rain. I'm from Arizona, where it's so hot and dry!! It's always 110+ degrees Fahrenheit outside and this sort of thing goes on even in early November.

What do you prefer to do on rainy days? Personally, I like to draw. Your art from what I've seen on your blog profile is cute.

For some context, the reply comment I posted to your blog answered a post from you wherein you describe your angst over comments being removed from your blog. Through your post, I understand your preference for direct confrontation versus editorial manipulation of blog interactions with you. As for myself, my comment was a vain attempt to explain why certain posts from those outside are dangerous for the incarcerated blogger. As I digested the post, commented, and then read your response to my comment, it became clear that I am not the arbiter of justice, truth, or even equity. Once my brother said, responding to a petulant child over equity, "Fair? Fair is where you sell your pigs." This comment stuck with me. Whenever one says, "This is fair," or "That is fair," we externalize our own internal judgments with ethics or morals. So when I declare myself non-judgmental, to some degree, I suppose what was lurking in my psyche was the pointing finger, "that commenter is judgmental." My very declaration of being non-judgmental was in fact, judgmental. The irony of it all slapped me across the face as I processed your next blog entry, in some ways, what could be considered the obit of the professed and evangelical WG.

Your blog entry was shocking, "D." In the years I have followed posts here, never do I remember, one blogger interacting with another blogger. Like a behind-the-scenes exposé, the curtain separating a blogger's public persona from his lived reality came down, and with horror, I read of the tortured existence of the man who demonstrated such great promise of reformation with the spark of hope that one day a person who repents and with human formation faces release back into society. I had never responded to a post by WG because belief systems are very good at separating themselves, one from another. This is not a jab at any belief system in particular but is my acknowledgment that first-hand, I understand belief systems do not readily cross-pollinate.

It was like being slapped again as I read TZN's response to your personal blog entry concerning the death of WG. It was practically tender; it was nearly kind, to you and to the reader. In an unexpected entry written with compassion and empathy, I read about WG from another point of view. This was not the blog comment I expected, no, not at all.

D, sometimes people get their schooling in humility by observing others. Humility is cultivated, grown by those willing to open their heart for a moment and say, "Hey world, perhaps my reality is changeable, perhaps I am not as smart as I count myself." I am saying this: you have never offended me, and if I have offended you, I'm sorry. I am not trying to be cryptic here, TZN made me open my eyes to the fact that how I see things are personal to me; it doesn't mean it is right or wrong; behind each entry of text are real people, living, breathing, and sometimes loving. We forget that D, you know? Peace to you.

As a regular reader, I’ve been reading William Goehlers blogs for years. I’ve never commented on any of them, or contacted him. But I’ve read them all. From the beginning of his time in jail. Through his struggles, anger, trying to come to terms with the time he had been given his frustrations. Then as he allowed himself to explore new avenues, new ideas, theories, religions, and even tread in areas he would never have explored in the outside he began his evolution. Evolution is a frightening prospect for people who don’t trust other people. He trusted only himself. And in jail, he found out who he was.
He posted many photos of himself and his children and loved ones. He was a handsome man, had some lovely kids. And he worshipped them. Spoke of them often. Must have thought about them endlessly. Jails one gift to a person, the ability to spend time alone in one’s own mind. A blessing and a curse.
Then came the replies to his blogs, lots of comments. His old friends found him through this incredible space, BTB. This conduit that allows people to reconnect without having to search through the prison maze to find old friends and family members. Maybe even making what would be an uncomfortable situation easier, anonymous sometimes, as people attempt to reconnect.
It was incredible to read of his reconnecting with his children over a period of almost 13 years via this blog. Sometimes I found myself having to stop reading them, I felt like I was intruding on his privacy.
BTB What an incredible gift to these children and this man.
He posted up all the courses he took, the meetings he attended and participated in.The changes he made Not the usual hoops inmates jump through to convince the parole board. He really applied himself to the notion of change, and more importantly trust, trust in other people.
Then there was a sea change.
And in the recent year and a half it began to look like he was actually going to be paroled prior to his release date. This was a REAL possibility.
Things were actually actively moving positively in that direction. As optimistically as two years.
And for William Goehler, he could see the finishing line in sight.
He literally posted a few weeks ago.
And today I learned he had taken his life. I learned it from you. In your ‘epitaph’. Hung himself from a balcony you said, after learning of the death of his son.

He couldn’t take another lungful of breath in a world that his son no longer inhabited. As a parent I understand that FULLY. I understand that soul destroying grief.

In the epitaph you cruelly and inappropriately included this barb directed at me. (“I wouldn’t be surprised if he and Tenzin were buddies here, as they certainly shared some troll tendencies.”)
Is this because I haven’t responded to your posts to me?
If I write you now, I will write something impulsive and mean, and I will regret it.

RIP William Goehler.
To his family and loved ones.
I wish you peace and much much love
