Hi Robert, I did get your other reply - thank you! And I think I said in another response that they have your old address on your profile page. I have the correct one now, but you might want to get it corrected on there if you can for others!
Our trip was nice. It was just me and my husband, with a little stopover to see my friend (college roommate), her husband and their new house on the way out to our hiking vacation at Joshua Tree. To answer your question, a 7-8 mile hike is about the longest I like to do. I am in OK shape, I could stand to lose a few pounds definitely! Maybe if I did I could go on a longer hike - LOL.
CA is about the furthest away I've been. I've not seen a whole lot of it, though. Two trips were to San Francisco when my friend used to live there. Now she lives outside of LA and we have now been to that area twice. On this trip we ventured out to the Mohave Desert - Palm Springs and then on to JT National Park.
I am going to check into the GTL messaging you mentioned in a previous post, it might be a more expedient way to be in touch regarding these projects you mention, both of which are great ideas! I think your desire to make a difference is awesome and maybe I can help.
Christopher, I learned of your story by watching Lockup. I was glad to see you move into general population. I'm struck by how unimaginably long your sentence is. It seems so unfair, especially when I think of the much shorter sentences given to people I have known who have caused much greater harm. I am inspired by your strength. I can't imagine what it would be like to go through what you have - the closest I have lived is several multiple-week stays in a locked psychiatric unit, and it was probably the most damaging experience of my life, even if it was supposedly for my own good. I hope that you will be able to stay strong and that some day you will be able to again experience life outside of prison.
I wrote another email on your blog. I never received any answer on it. Your two lost letters finally came here on March 14th. They came together and did 22 days and 33 days over it! At least now I'm realizing you were sick! What was it,a flew? I am so sorry to hear this! :(( Here the flew is out of our country. I took an injection to not to have it, or only in a milder form. Today came a large envelope from the mail room at yours. It contained my sent chess book, my photo and a DVD. It said: 'Item not permitted'. I guess it was for the DVD? But that DVD I never sent! It's not mine! Is this a trap? To not to deliver your book?! Can you receive a rather small hard covered book in a yellow envelope? I guess you can? I paid a lot to send it and now it's back, plus an unknown DVD... :(
I never got the name and address to direct myself to ask for the visiting time.I asked it several times, George. Now I've to go by different choices to contact a person at the phone of the prison. It was not that easy. I will write a letter- it's about time!- to a Mrs Deana Medford. I only hope she's the right person to write to!? Maybe tomorrow there's a letter from you that tells me the person to write to? Because I am not too sure.:(
i was truly amazed at what I read!It breaks my heart, really. How strong an inmate has to stand in his own struggle there at your place in prison...I will write this to George jr. So he knows what's going on in prisons. But I'm almost sure he realizes it.To be in a prison is a place you'd never like to return.Henry, I am thankful you opened my eyes. We shall be friends and I will help you as best I personally can.I will write you later more. I've to go by now.I got your picture, and I am very pleased to see your face. a hug from Rita
