Hello David, I just wanted to drop you a quick note since I'm sitting on your next letter but haven't gotten it finished.
I received your long letter a few weeks back, you do have the correct address. I sent that book with the best intentions because while I have not even at this time read the whole book myself yet, I loved the history of it. A man that spent 20 years studying the topic from a historical perspective will have more to ADD to the view of "Jesus the man," not just "Jesus, the son of God." At no time did I read anything in there and assume anyone would find his intellectual and historical perspective and insight offensive, misleading, or misguided. He does mention some potential missing biblical books, and other historical pieces and puzzles which are quite curious. Anyway, I thought there was good insight and thought-provoking historical information for those like you who enjoy history and thoughtful discussion. For me, I was never intrigued with Jesus in that way at all but this book is what made me interested. My apologies if you didn't love it like I did. Feel free to donate the books I send you to the prison library once you're finished, and please don't feel obligated to read those books that you don't enjoy. In the future, I'll choose books with your faith in mind, as that is your number one priority. Do you have some titles in mind that you don't have access to? A series maybe? Maybe I can post it and see if other friends will send them to you.

Hello Jesse, I hope you're holding up alright. I read your blog posts and was inspired to write to you, as I noticed you hadn't posted an update in quite some time. I just wanted to say thanks for posting here and giving some honest insight on your situation. It's been very informative to read about how solitary affects individuals and I deeply sympathize with the inmates who endure its circumstances. Judging by your posts I can tell that you're a strong individual and I appreciate that you've written so candidly on this blog. My condolences go out to the ones you've lost. Take care.
I am hopeful, John that you will correspond with Trisha. I want you to be aware of the importance of this to our daughter. She wants so badly to know her Father.
Then what? My last message wasn't even about what he had written. I was talking about in general. I hope and pray everyone changes their lives around and can live happy and normal lives when they do get out. I have no ill will towards anyone. I'm sorry if you took what I was trying to say the wrong way and I hope he can and has made all the positive changes for himself. And it sounds like he is focusing his energy on something and that he's really into what he's doing, which is a good thing too. Either way, I've made plenty of mistakes in my life and I know that there are people out there that have totally different lives/situations growing up. I just hope that all of these people in jail can make the right changes before they get out so that it doesn't happen again. I don't know how to explain exactly what I'm trying to say, sorry again!!
No worries. Again, I only transcribe these things for something to do. I can appreciate the letters from people who can admit and accept that they did something wrong because they are in jail in the first place. That doesn't mean I totally believe that they won't go right back out and do something wrong again when or if they do get out. I've known a lot of people who have gone to jail but NEVER for killing anyone. Also, I don't know which of these writers did what but you are in jail/prison for a reason so I don't and can't appreciate/believe the "poor me" letters. Yes, some of the officers may not go by the rules or treat them with "respect" but they are prisoners for a reason. I guess I'm trying to say, "you do the crime, you pay the time." And it may suck but the officers didn't put them in jail/prison, they did it to themselves. Yes, there are other circumstances that can you get you caught up in something and even though you didn't do the actual crime, you were there so you get charged too. But again, you put yourself in that situation. Does any of this make sense? Sorry!! I know that I've made A LOT of changes in my life because I refused to go to jail and if I had stayed on the path I was on, that's probably where I would have ended up. Yes, I'm bored at my job but I'd take working here everyday of the week over being in jail. Anyways, sorry for rambling. Have a great day! Take Care! ~Meagan~
