I hope you are doing well and you have gotten your life together. I felt betrayed when you decided to marry that woman, the plan was for you to stay out, but apparently she didn't have the where with all to tell you no, or let you know that what you were doing was messed up. Your friend as always. Vicki

Daniel,
Your insight on this topic was fantastic to read. I couldn't help feeling like this may be a calling for you. I am confident that someone like yourself, who has the knowledge, background and positive mindset to make a change in this world......will. I also know that there would be many people willing to support you and cheer you on.
I wish you the very best of luck.

Justina.

Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post. That was a lot of transcribing, I hope I did all this some justice (no pun intended)!

It's Veterans Day, David! You have not been forgotten. Your Facebook page has pushed another group attempt at getting Governor Quinn's attention this past week while he's still in office. We're still in hopes that he'll notice you.

Keep writing us at the same place you've been writing for the past year, our temporary transfer is over and we're back.

I do have a letter from my brother I meant to send you but misplaced, by the way. It'll be a couple months old when I find it and get it to you but I WILL get it to you when I can. :)

Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today. -Thich Nhat Hanh

Take care in there.

It's long and unfortunately it's a fake.

Willie Lynch never existed and highly regarded historians have shown that the letter is the figment of some ones imagination. Dr. Jelani Cobb and Dr. Manu Ampim (who has written a book on the subject)are just two of them.

cpadilla I respectfully disagree. The position of Public Defender in itself is not evil, its the low pay, dealing with defendants with no money, having a philosophical methodology they stick to all the time, and not a great preparation for trial seem to be something they share in common.

How can a lawyer that has 20-40x the case load be expected to represent well.

Also why do public defenders continuously get worse deals then private counsel.

Also why are the winning statistics different. Why do private counsel win substantially more then public defenders. I think it's a combination of: overworking, low pay, high pessimism, usually worse educated and younger then private lawyers etc etc. So The list is long.

So yes A defendant does get to feel betrayed if the public defender doesn't assist anywhere nearly as good as a private lawyer and doesn't even pretend to want to do so.

Wow thats very very deep. I can't believe that happened.

I don't know why your worried about shooting sprees in a public place. Theres luckily pretty rare. We have had mass shootings in school's and those make the news but that will not apply to you. (but do give kids safety tips if got forbid they believe something has happens at there school: such as stay calm and find an adult)

Serial Killers do exist but they usually target specific individuals like women, or the elderly.
But again the probability is in the thousand's of percent.

Most shootings do probably happen because of conflicts between gangs and drugs.
