I have known Frank Soffen for over 35 years. This is outrageous! I have seen with my own eyes the remorse and regret he has for his crimes and yet when I read the comments from the victims families, I do understand what they must feeland it's a tragedy, but they must go on to forgive,do you hear me; FORGIVE, as the hatred they express will only make them live with bitterness all their lives. This is not the right thing the Parole Board is doing. There was an inmate years ago named Louie Greco, who had cancer and they gave him a medical release so he could go to Florida to die where his sister lived and his crimes were also extremely seriousserious. Why is the Parole Board denying Frank due to the fact they don't think he is rehabilitated? I know differently, His medical problems he is suffering with are a death sentence as it is. He is a human being who deserves to have the last of his years with some dignity.I trust Frank Soffen with my life and would take care of him if he were released . The Parole Board surely has changed. Years ago we had members who would release him under the circumstances as they did Louie Greco. They believed that people changed.Over 40 years on his charges? It seems we need a better Parole Board ;one who has a heart for people suffering. After all, he has suffered more than his share. Rose A.
I understand where you are coming from, in terms of your ability to make decisions as a teen regarding sex.
But the thing is, if a 14 year old came up to you - now - would you be interested in protecting his welfare? As adults, we all have that obligation.
I've been following the comments of someone who is incarcerated for such a crime, and he uses all kinds of pseudo-intelligent essays to justify his behavior. It's shocking.
But the truth is, he was trolling for a child and found one.
As an adult, I would never put a child or a teen in harms way. Even if they pursued me.
And having a relationship with someone that young is putting them in harms way. They need to discover, explore and learn about the joys of a relationship with someone who is a peer.
I am not their peer. I am older and can use my knowledge (and power - financial, social, experience - all kinds of power) to manipulate them. That's just the truth.
For what it's worth, I wish he had turned you down. That's what a man should do when approached by a teen.
Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post.
I am glad that Between the Bars is helping. I am sorry that people are using the bible to bash on you and Dennis. I, myself am a Christian and I hope you take comfort in knowing - we aren't all like that. If I had to fill in the blanks I would say that Jesus would say about Gay People: "I love you just as much."

I find your views very interesting. Rape is certainly very difficult to prosecute because often times it is a case of he said/she said.
With regards to minors having sex with adults and the adults being prosecuted, I think it is worth noting that although a minor may feel that he/she wanted to engage in sex voluntarily and therefore not coerced or "raped" in the traditional sense, the minor does not really have the mental capacity to make such big decisions (even if they believe they do). It is why I believe there is an age of consent.
Paul, Alma was on vacation for about 3 months. She just got back, said she has a few letters. I have not seen her. I started college Monday to friday and on saturdays I take Bakery classes only Sundays left to do the things that most be done. I'm going crazy with so much work. Went back to college to take pharmacy (hard work) have to study hard 2 texts every week. I will never forget about you. Kisses and hugs. Forever yours MM
I'm not sure if I can say anything that might cheer you up, but here goes: I care deeply for you; know that there are people out there who do love you. Stay strong and stay close to God; keep writing if you can. This piece of literature is just so poignant and moving. --Calhoun25
Advanced Sciatica Exercises for Abdominal Muscles and Back Muscles As the patient’s pain works out of the lower extremity (leg) and centralizes in the low back, the exercises typically are advanced to strengthen the low back and abdominal muscles to prevent recurrences of sciatic pain caused by a herniated disc.
Low back muscle strengthening exercises:
Upper back extension. In the prone position with hands clasped behind the lower back, raise the head and chest slightly against gravity (Figure 4) while looking at the floor (stay low). Begin by holding position for 5 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 seconds. Aim to complete 8-10 repetitions.
In the prone position with the head and chest lowered to the floor, lightly raise an arm and opposite leg slowly, with the knee locked, 2 to 3 inches from the floor. Begin by holding position for 5 seconds, and complete 8 to 10 repetitions. As strength builds, aim to hold position for 20 seconds. Abdominal muscle strengthening exercises:
Curl-ups.For the upper abdominals, the patient should lie on the back with knees bent, arms folded across the chest, and the pelvis tilted to flatten the back. Then curl-up lifting the head and shoulders from the floor. Hold for two to four seconds, then slowly lower to starting position. As strength builds, aim to complete two sets of ten curls.
Do not attempt to lift the head up too high, and bring the head and chest towards the ceiling. For patients with neck pain, place the hands behind the head to support the neck.
For the lower abdominals, tighten the lower stomach muscles and slowly raise the straight leg 8 to 12 inches from the floor, keeping the low back held flat against the floor. Hold leg raise for eight to 10 seconds, then slowly lower to starting position. As strength builds, aim to complete two sets of ten lifts.
I do hope that something will help to alleviate your pain...if you need any more info on anything else just let me know. Take care, Bluelotus
