Douglas, you strike me as an intelligent young man, also as a strong-minded individual (that's a leadership quality). It impressed me how you spoke - exactly - how you see things. Most people, I have noticed, are not strong enough to speak their minds. This is one reason why politicians are so corrupt, and it's (corruption) leading our society down the wrong road (at full speed).
You did not (fully) agree with me, but that's O.K. I appreciate your natural honesty and candor. At 17, with your mindset, you are ready to make a difference. Plus, you have experienced the psychological taste of incarceration. So, you know what it's like.
I have enclosed a three pg. article (based out of Houston TX) for you to peruse. My hope and wish is for you to send a letter to the federal governor (president) asking him ban solitary confinement. Or to alter the current state of it. This is what I ask everyone.
[some text missing] prison soon. So, if money comes back to you, please send money to: Columbia Corr. Inst./P.O. Box 900, Portage, Wis. 53901 (Al-Amin Akbar #211383).
Also, if you know others who you can get to sit down, and take 10 minutes of their life to write the president, asking to ban solitary confinement in American prisons, please do so. At 17, what are some of your goals for the future?
Have you ever thought of being a difference-maker? Or maybe a leader of a nation?
