As you say, "another point of view in terms of women in developed countries", it just doesn't hold up to me. Women in "industrialized" countries and more so women in America hold a dominant position compared to their counterparts in third world countries. Doesn't it seem odd to you that a woman in this country, working as a "prostitute" can earn more money than most other women in other countries? But let's bring up the world's biggest democracy, India, what kind of "democracy" still has a caste system? As for not standing their ground, if women in America were to demand for full equality will that in itself end rape, degrading and oppression of women? That negates the whole point, now doesn't it?? Like someone saying since the world is so fucked up and horrible I'm gonna change myself and make the world better. Changing one's ways is a good first start but it still leaves the world messed up. The point is to change things. You may have never felt held back but like I said earlier, women in this country, especially "white" women hold a dominant gender position. You know whites were slaves too, right? And once "black" and "white" oppressed people started to rise up in rebellion what happened? Of course there's much more to this subject than what I said. Even "your" generation didn't go far enough. Young women today think it's all good but the reality couldn't be further from the truth. Many organizations now (of "feminists") only want a bigger slice of the pie.

Think about it.
