Hi Nicki,

I remember this incident. To wit - I DO NOT believe any reasonable human in the USA needs more than a basic pistol (portable self defence), shotgun (hunting, home-defence), and a rifle (hunting mostly). I don't think the basic US resident needs more than one or two clips for the pistol and only 1 or 2 bricks of each weapons' ammunition, excepting full-time hunting enthusiasts.

Out your way, I'd never leave into any outback adventure without A LOT more ammo and I'd probably add a full hunting bow/quiver kit as well. I'd follow that same reasoning for rural US, Canada, Mexico alo.

But... in my local cineplex, yeah I shouldn't need to pack heat, but obviously there is a need.

I wish we could all live in peace, but we haven't in the last few hundred - thousand years, so how can we expect to just because we have technology?

The only change between us and our early tribal nomads is the technology to commit violence and take over those who do not possess it has changed. Most, if not all tech is designed to give us an upper hand. Buyers beware!! If you give up your right to defend yourself you have no reason to complain when someone is hellbent to ruin you. Nicki, if you has been trained to operate a firearm and had a right to put an end to those who would hurt you - how would your situation have turned out?

The trouble is the most dangerous things in the Outback are so small you might not even know they're there until they've bitten you and you're doomed.
