"The Grey Days of May"

I would like to start this post off by saying hello to everyone in the free world. Will May suck 4 me, I'm thinking that it will. If it's anything like the 1st months of 2013 then yea, it will be all bad. Things have gone so crazy 4 me so far that the system has made me want to get back on my meds. But I'm going to try and focus on the positives. I'm going to discuss the good that may happen 4 me this year. My latest posts have all been negative and people don't want to read that shit. I don't want to write about it but I have to get the drama off of my chest so I post it. That's better than dealing with it in here through violence. Violence never solves anyone's issues. Especially mine. I will never get out till I can stay off of the negative bullshit that state prison puts me through. The state wants me to be write up free. They want me to stay out of trouble and be a good little convict. Wake up, people, it don't always work out that way. The prison system and its bullshit has a way of bringing you down like only a prisoner can understand. Prison is nothing like citizens think it is.

Let's discuss the recent events that can help me here in this crappy California prison system. First of all the governor of CA, Jerry Brown has a major overcrowding prison system problem and a 3 judge "federal judge" panel is all up his ass making him do a mass overhaul of the prison system. He has to do a mass release of prisoners this year. Does he like it, hell no, but that's just too damn bad. In a nutshell, here's the real deal, there's 34 adult prisons in CA and they got us all packed in. Inmates are dying daily due to the overcrowding/very bad medical care. The fed judges have ruled in the favor of the inmates and ordered our freedom. The governor refuses to kick any inmates out. Supposedly he is going to let out a lot of old lifers who have done 20 to 40 years on sentences like 7 to life, 15 yrs to life etc. The system is so screwed up due to the 3 strikes law/lock 'em up, throw away the key bullshit. People keep coming in but no one is getting out. It's a mess and I've been in prison for 20 years now so I know 1st hand that they haven't let lifers go. The good news is that's about to change. The governor has a deadline to get inmates released to the streets, if he don't do it he will be held in contempt of court. I think the gov may sign something to give all inmates half time. That will get a lot of people out. Did you know that it costs something like 40 to 50 thousand dollars a year to keep each inmate locked up in prison in California. There is like 200,000 of us, I would say.

Do you know who pays that bill every year? The taxpayers of California. Yea, CA is broke. The good folks of California are tired of paying the bill for prisoners. Don't you think that after 20 years I've learned my lesson? Haven't we costed the state enough $ already? There are literally thousands and thousands of inmates just like me who they haven't let out. Look, we're not saying let out Charles Manson, we're saying start looking into allowing the release of inmates who have been down for years. Think about this for a second, inmates who have parole dates just come back and forth from the streets to prison all the time. Lifers sit here in prison and never get out. Look, we have been down for so long that if you let us out we will NOT come back. Statistically lifers who do get released don't come back due to we've learned our lessons. So who knows what will happen this year with the mass inmate release. Will they be smart enough to release lifers? After all, we are the prisoners who will not come back, it's a fact. Hopefully the governor will do the right thing and release all us old lifers. We done our time, we're not going to go out and commit crimes, we're too old for that shit. We know for a fact what doing time is all about, we won't fuck up anymore. Look into what I'm saying and think about it. Are you tired of paying for all us old lifers? Well, we want to get jobs and pay our own way. Will we ever go home?

How much time is enough?

Donnie
