A BOOKS IMPLICATIONS TOO...

I've recently finished reading the Hunger Game books (all 3). The books are good I can't deny that, page after page I found myself turning.

The story is very good and I admire the author to tell a story such as that cause really the world could use that at this moment. Shit is just so fucked up that people can't even see it as such. Most work at their jobs, assume a peaceful life pattern and leave it at that. Thinking outside of the box is not in their thoughts, let alone thinking if the 'box' is overrated and should be done with.

Katniss Everdeen... the mockingjay. the girl that defied the "Capitol" and inspired many to do as such. The ray of hope is what she was to people in other districts. With that act of not willing to cave-in and defy "the-powers-that-be" a revolution was sparked. Think about this for a moment, in todays world, with such atrocities going on, what is our mockingjay? When I say "our" I mean all humans. Forget your nation and 'color', forget your land and what you feel is your own. As one people, what is it that makes us search for a deeper meaning in life? What gives voice to the voiceless and wills others to not be pacifist and take a stand for righteousness? What, who, and where is it? Look where humanity has come from and think hard of where it's going... what does the future hold for our grandchildren's children? More wars? Debt? Invasions? Suffering? Massacres?

Where is our mockingjay? What can unite people like nothing else? For all the fiction in the book... it touches a deep cord in all of us (or should). To think and hope that something can change and something better can arise should thrill every human to seek that out. Switching this around, what is the world's hunger games?
