No Struggles
Today looking at the news I seen the struggle of supporters of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood in holding on to their camps and literally fighting the Eqyptian Army.
I have my own bone to pick with Morsi and the Islamist Brotherhood but thats for another time. What I want to convey to the reader is the opposition and struggle that people are over there going through. The climate is explosive and the seeds of revolt have been planted with the Arab spring.
As a prisoner confined all day in a cell in solitary confinement I too feel their struggle. The struggle to keep my sanity and wits about me while most lose theirs. I contrast Eqyptians struggle to here in the U.S. and I must say its a more pacifist herd of people. I guess with reforms and patches that politicians made during he bus was enough for people to just lay down and except the status quo. No doubt theres some struggles in the U.S. but what are their significance? People rallying for gays to marry? Shouts to Congross to make a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants? Better pay and higher wages?
What the fuck happened to the Malcolm X's? The Marcus Garveys and Huey Newtons? What happened to cease dissent, revolt and a call to make a new nation within the U.S.? Why do we still have a two political party system?
Not many question things. People recognize Jay Z and other "artist" but cant tell you what or how original certain "rights" came about. Mainstream culture has alot to do with this but I can only blame that so much. Most have and love their material wealth to give it up. In other words, even the poor here in the U.S. have a material wealth and privilege beyond that of many third world nations. As long as the carrot is presented people will bite. The struggle here in the U.S. is a shame compared to those of other people around the world.
