Have You Ever Been in Love?
What is love? Is it just three words: I love you? Or does it take more to love and know love?
Love is the opposite of selfish; it's selfless. It's seeing the best in another even when they can't see it themselves—particularly when they can't see it themselves—and pushing them to now only see it, but feel it, believe it, and be it. It's helping them discover parts of themselves they didn't even know existed, and doing so not so they'll be better for you, but simply because you desire them to be able to better appreciate the view reflected in their mirror. It's convincing them to expect more from life, more from you, and most importantly, more from themselves.
Love is never about how they make YOU feel, but how you make them feel better about themselves. And when love is real? Well, you'll accept what it means to love, even while knowing it may ultimately lead to that love leaving your life.
