Follow the Yellow Brick Road. Or Not

In Kwami K. Kwami's The Tables Have Turned : A Street Guide to Guerrilla Lawfare, former special agent Dr. Tyrone Powers explains: "During the time I was in the FBI working intelligence issues, a report came across my desk. And it was in regards to going out and talking to Afrikan-Americans, interviewing them about intel agent issues or crimes and things of that sort, and a document came out of the behavior science unit at Quantic, Virginia. It said that African-Americans, or blacks in America, were an emotional people but not an intelligent people. And there's nothing wrong with being emotional. We should be emotional.

But what they were saying is. this. That an issue will come up. They may get angry about it, they may protest, they might hold vigils, they may hold marches, but then they will go away without there being any logical conclusion to it. But based on this analysis, you have to understand that this report that comes out goes to almost all intelligence agencies to the police intelligence assholes. This is the way they deal with African-Americans. This is the way you deal with them. Whether you're conducting an interview or any other kind of investigation or if they're holding a protest or if there's a police brutality shooting. Sure, they'll protest for a while, but let them have their protest. And they'll go away."

What does the above say about black protests? Are protesters looked upon with such child-like naiveness? Is that the scope of the political climate? Take the case of the killing of Trayvon Martin.

George Zimmerman is accused of killing an unarmed teenager in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman, who is a neighborhood watch man, called 911, talking about someone looking suspicious. Suspicious of what? Say what you may and think as you do, but to say that Trayvon wasn't targeted due to his nationality is a blatant lie. I ponder if it was a European male, what if any profiling would've went down? The detectives "investigating" the killing said it was justified due to the "stand your ground law" in Florida. Zimmerman, who was in his car, decided to get out and pursue his suspicious character! But these details are not the main thrust.

People who were outraged and appalled at this senseless killing took to the streets to demand justice for Trayvon Martin. The climate was ripe with animosity towards the police and "elected" officials for not taking action. Only after much protest did then-officials decide to charge George Zimmerman with murder (never mind the degree). A trial has begun, and both sides battle it out to win and put their case before the jurors.

Now a question arises. What, if any action, would be taken if George Zimmerman is found not guilty? Will people take to the streets again? I can't take nothing away from people that do. But when do people put their hands and just give up? Then again, look at what is quoted above. The "powers that be" (i.e. the bourgeoisie) laugh at stuff like this. Look how riled up they get when the Black Panthers were walking around with guns! It wasn't be demanded.

However, Malcolm X said it best, "No negro leaders have fought for evil rights. They begged for civil rights. They have begged the white man for civil rights. They have begged the white man for freedom. Anytime you beg another man to set you free, you'll never be free. Freedom is something you have to do for yourself."

Who am I siding with, the capitalist class? Deceit... people, even the ones with good intentions will be deceived by their "justice" system.

"In preference to such servile submission to the murderous hands of tyrants... I count my life not dear unto me, but I am ready to be offend at any moment. For what is the use of living, when, in fact, I am dead."
