Subject: "Trials & Tribulations"
From the cradle to the present day (death row) my life has been met by many trials & tribulations that has clawed at my very soul. I thought that my life would never get any better, and thought just to give up. I was abused by my step-father; abandoned by my mother; neglected by my father; heart broken by love; ridiculed by friends; rejected by society; and wrongfully convicted of murder & sentenced to be executed. My world felt like it was crashing down upon me and crushing my dreams, as one trial after anther set about to destroy me. I've tried various ways to escape my troubles, but ended up adding to them--hurting myself & others. One day I looked to heaven and was inspired to do better, and not just wish for it. In the course of my journey, many good people filled my deflated spirit with pearls of wisdom, which I had finally took a hold of. I then decided to face my troubles head on and not run away or ignore them any more. I also found that I am much stronger than I had first believed.
My life is take a turn for the better in spite of my current incarceration. In this darkness I have found the slivers of light that encourages and sustains me--beacons of hope. I've found the fire to fight for my family & community.
God may provide for us, but He helps those who help themselves. In helping myself, I am able to help others and be a positive contributor to society. Just because I'm on death row, doesn't mean I can't make the effort. In being genuine & sincere, I have found my way.
